Message: Thankfully, Kim and I reconnected last fall (2008) when we learned about Maroo's battle against and ultimate death from pancreatic cancer. Kim,I and a few others went on a quest to locate as many Phi Mu sisters from NWMSU who could send Maroo cards, emails and most importantly, prayers on her behalf. It was then...(through initially tentative comments about spiritual issues) that we became aware of each others' abiding deep faith in the grace of Jesus Christ. After that, our special Bond was doubled so we called ourselves 'sisters squared'...as did Maroo and I.
The sorrow we all feel is so well described in Kim's book. I sent a copy to my niece last fall when her son died in a car accident...when I told her that the author had joined her son in heaven, Stacey said "Oooooo.......I was going to write her a note to thank her for helping me"
You lost Kim WAY too soon...but then again, you had such an amazingly wonderful wife, daughter, sister, and mom for so very many quality times and years. The mark she left on you (and on so many others) cannot easily be erased.

Message: Mom was my absolute best friend without a doubt. I can only hope and pray I get the privlidge to have such a relationship with my daughter. Thanks to everyone who has donated or passed a book on to keep her story alive, it's one that deserves to live forever. Love you all.
